Setting up a Nokia 6233 to send email in 78 easy steps!

Not quite as many required to setup my Nokia 6620, but damn. Syncing settings makes so much more sense.

iPhone Peeping

While catching a couple talks at the De Young Museum this afternoon I had my first sighting of iPhones in the wild (which I realize is both eye-roll worthy and completely unsurprising given all the San Fran artist/designer types in attendence.) Anyways, the interesting bit was watching a lady a few rows in front of me put her iPhone through its paces as she fiddled with it off and on over the course of a couple hours. The moment I thought was worth sharing was when she tried to zoom in while taking a picture (the iPhone camera doesn’t zoom) by doing the “reverse finger pinch” gesture that handles zooming elsewhere in the iPhone UI. Interesting! It seems natural that future fancier versions of the iPhone would implement digital zooming in just that way.

iPhone - A Guided Tour

In-depth look at the iPhone user interface. The delete gesture (a swipe to the right) is one of my favorites so far.

Typographics

Cheeky type animation, love the campy soundtrack. “Typography is what language looks like.”

Versions - Mac Subversion Client

Beta not quite available for download, but it looks like the best svn gui for OS X yet. I wish there was something like this for Bazaar.

IE NetRenderer

Surprisingly fast page rendering service for checking layouts in MS Internet Explorer. For when firing up Windows in VMWare seems overkill.

Apple iPhone Ad - Calamari

Well this won’t make getting a table at Pacific Catch any easier…
